Biography

Masanori Sugimoto received B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees from Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Dr.Eng. degree from Interdisciplinary Course on Advanced Science and Technology, University of Tokyo, Japan, in 1990, 1992, and 1995, respectively.


In 1995, he joined Research and Department Development, National Center for Science Information Systems (currently National Institute of Informatics), Tokyo, Japan. He bacame an associate professor at Information Technology Center, University of Tokyo in August 1999.

Currently, he is an associate professor at Department of Frontier Informatics, Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, University of Tokyo.

He was a visiting scientist in Department of Computer Science, University of Colorado at Boulder, CO, USA (from January 1997 to November 1997).

His research concern includes artificial intelligence, cognitive science, and information retrieval, computer supported learning. He has developed several systems for enhancing human-computer interaction.
